A trusted name in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Cris Ternisky has over 30 years of experience in pediatric dentistry.  Dr. Cris brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate touch to every child's dental care journey. Dr. Cris's interest in pediatric dentistry began at an early age, as she had the unique opportunity to work alongside her father, Dr. Mike, since she was just 15 years old. It's truly heartwarming for her to now see the children of Dr. Mike's previous patients entrusting their smiles to her care. As an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.  Dr. Cris is committed to ensuring that her young patients receive the highest quality of care in a comfortable and nurturing environment.

Dr. Cris pursued her undergraduate studies in biological studies at West Virginia University before earning her dental degree from the prestigious Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Following her dental education, she completed her pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Maryland at Baltimore, where she refined her skills in providing specialized dental care for children of all ages.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Cris enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to Dr. Mark Luposello, a retired orthodontist, and together they are proud parents of two grown children, Isabel and Mark Reid. Isabel is pursuing her passion for nursing at Duke University, while Mark Reid is pursuing his studies in business at Babson College in Boston.  In her leisure time, Dr. Cris loves reading a good book, exploring new restaurants, catching the latest movies, and embarking on exciting travel adventures with her family.

Dr. Golnaz Jalali

Dr. Golnaz Jalali

Dr. Golnaz Jalali brings a wealth of expertise and compassion to our practice.  She is known for her patience and gentle approach, creating a comfortable and reassuring environment for children during their dental visits.  Dr. Golnaz dedication to providing compassionate, comprehensive care, combined with her fluency in English and Farsi, and conversational proficiency in Spanish, make her a valued asset to our team. Whether it's a child's first dental visit or ongoing care, families can trust Dr. Golnaz for exceptional pediatric dental services.

Dr. Golnaz’s journey in dentistry began at the University of Virginia, where she earned her degree in Chemistry with a specialization in Biology in 2007. She then pursued her doctoral degree from Medical College of Virginia graduating in 2011. Her commitment to excellence led her to serve as the chief resident during her pediatric residency at Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, New York, which she completed in 2013.

As a testament to her dedication to the field, Dr. Jalali is Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She remains actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association, and the American Dental Association, staying abreast of the latest advancements and techniques in pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Golnaz finds joy in both her career and personal life. She treasures moments with her husband, Tim, and their two daughters, Liliana and Ariana, along with their precious goldendoodle, Joon. Her favorite activities include traveling, hiking, working out, and exploring new culinary delights in the DMV area.

Dr. Jason Shannon has over 19 years of dedicated experience and understands the importance of early dental care in establishing lifelong oral health habits. He is committed to making every visit a positive and educational experience for both children and their parents.  He continues to strive for excellence in pediatric dentistry, ensuring that every child who walks through the doors receives the highest standard of care possible.


Dr. Jason's journey in dentistry began at Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Following his dental studies, Dr. Jason pursued specialized training in pediatric dentistry at St. Joseph's Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island for his pediatric residency.  His dedication to lifelong learning ensures that he stays well-informed of the latest advancements in pediatric dental care.

Dr. Jason is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Virginia Dental Association. Through his involvement in these organizations, he stays connected with peers in the dental community and remains at the forefront of best advancements in pediatric dentistry.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Jason enjoys spending quality time with his daughter, Charlotte. They share a love for adventure, often embarking on trips to Disney World and enthusiastically welcoming new furry friends into their family. Dr. Jason also enjoys traveling, rooting for DC sports teams, and catching comedy shows and concerts.

Dr. Mike Ternisky

Dr. Mike Ternisky - Retired

Dr. Michael J. Ternisky has left an indelible mark on the dental profession with over four decades of dedicated service in pediatric dentistry.  While he no longer sees patients, Dr. Mike, as he is affectionately known, continues to influence his community and pursue his passions beyond the dental chair.

Dr. Mike embarked on his academic journey at Purdue University. He later earned his doctoral degree in dentistry from Indiana University, setting the stage for a lifelong commitment to oral health care.  Driven by a desire to expand his expertise, Dr. Mike pursued further training in adult dentistry during a rotation with the Air Force in Charleston, South Carolina. However, it was his specialization in pediatric dentistry that truly ignited his passion for serving the dental needs of children.  He completed his pediatric residency at Eastman Dental Clinic in Rochester, New York. In 1969, he established his practice in McLean, Virginia, becoming the first pediatric dentist to serve the McLean, Great Falls, and Tysons Corner communities.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mike remained steadfast in his commitment to excellence and innovation in pediatric dentistry. His dedication to the profession extended beyond patient care, as he served as an assistant professor of pediatric dentistry at the School of Dentistry at Georgetown University for two decades.

Dr. Mike is an avid baseball enthusiast, he frequents the Nationals training camp, indulging his love for the sport. Additionally, Dr. Mike is deeply involved in horse racing, with his own horses competing in races.  He is a devoted husband, father to four children, and proud grandfather of four grandchildren. His enduring legacy of compassionate care and unwavering dedication to his community serve as an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of knowing him.
